Welcome Home | Peppercorn Crusted Filet Mignon

Hello friends!

We're absolutely enjoying our new home and playground - the boys and Coco love running, exploring, bringing me new insects and frogs to check out and swimming every single day.

I've been on "repairmen" management duty - we've had a parade of plumbers, electricians, handymen, deliverywomen and contractors come by (thank goodness for the home warranty we bought).

We've finally cleaned and lit the grill, turned on the oven (yay, it works!) and for the first time in nearly 3 weeks, I cooked more than just frozen/canned/delivered dinner. It feels great to be back in the kitchen!

Read - welcome home and get a tour of our property at sunset.

Peppercorn Crusted Filet Mignon with Balsamic Red Wine Sauce

Pat, the butcher shows you how to transform a whole tenderloin, which is as big as a bodybuilder's forearm, into pretty, petite filet mignon steaks. Then, I share a recipe that sounds fancy, but is so incredibly simple, has only a few ingredients and takes only 20 minutes hands-on.

Best Cherries I've Ever Had

I didn't realize how much I *love* cherries until just this past weekend. My friend, Tim Mar, sent me a box of Early Robin Ranier Cherries from 3rd and 4th generation farmers, the Stennes Family.

Oh. My.

Only one word can describe it: Bursty! Bon Appetit magazine and NY Times rave about the Stennes family cherries. I wish I could send you each a box!

They're only available for a few weeks more!.
